Mallory's Challenge Run Catalogue
A collection of Stardew Valley challenge runs from silly to impossible!
The backstory
Mallory began playing Stardew Valley casually and as a streamer in March 2021. After being frustrated by the fishing mechanic, the game was temporarily set aside. Although Mallory did return to the game shortly after (and learned how to fish), it wasn't until April 2022 that challenge runs began to pique her interest.
Mallory's first challenge run was originally developed by another creator, but Mallory began to build upon challenges like this and later create her own challenges to complete in Stardew Valley. Her first perfection file was completed on stream in July 2022, and it was at this point she began fully creating her own challenges to complete.
Along the way, Mallory and their Twitch viewers became very
invested in hats in Stardew Valley. During streams, they all
enjoy the original gambling game of "Hat or No Hat," and
regular viewers in
streams will be quick to inform
anyone interested on their position
regarding Treasure Room hats.
How it works
Most challenges found on this website were first created for Mallory to complete live on stream, but over time have become requested by other streamers, viewers, and players of Stardew. In an effort to help players of all skill levels and interest get a feel for what challenges they may want to play or are capable of taking on, each challenge contains an informational metric to clarify difficulty, console compatibility (specifically related to mods), and anticipated time commitments.
Players should not feel as if they are not welcomed to play more difficult challenges, just to be aware of the difficulty they may be selecting. For challenges marked “compatible with some modifications,” modifications will be designated in the challenge’s FAQ.
Difficulty
Challenge difficulty ranking is intended to help players estimate skill/experience needed to most likely succeed each challenge. Lower (green) gauges indicate a challenge easy to complete with minimal experience while higher gauges indicate more recommended experience and understanding.
Console Compatibility
As some challenges require mods, compatibility with console gameplay is measured as “compatible,” (green) “compatible with some modifications” (yellow) and “not compatible” (red).
Time commitment
Time commitment is intended to help the player know about how long a challenge may take, with green being the shortest and red being the longest.
